ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod

Never once, while playing Super Mario Bros., did I ever think, "What would happen if the guy (girl) from Metroid took over, with all of her kickass Metroid powers?" It's a good thing I never dared to entertain this kind of thinking, because I don't think my brain could have handled the idea. It would have been too much.

And now it's happened. Seriously, I should just quit my job now. I don't know how I'm ever going to stop playing this game. Finding out about shit like this at midnight should be illegal. No wonder I have sleeping problems.

On a side note, did anyone know the guy from Contra's name was Bill? Isn't that kinda disappointing? He should have been named Snake or Hacksaw or something.

That sound you just heard? It was my head exploding. Thank you again for the internet, Al Gore.

Hyrule is Safe

Link has vanquished the evil Ganon and brought peace to the lands again. With a little help from a map, Legend of Zelda didn't take long.

I feel like all that's left for me to conquer is Mike Tyson's Punch Out. That will pretty much be the grand slam of NES games. Although there is a kickass Karate game I'm trying to find, but that's a bonus at this point.

The next step would be sports games, I guess (hell yeah, Excitebike!), but I think I'll have to get an actual controller for that. They actually make NES/USB controllers. I'll be the coolest guy in the office.

Another Childhood Goal Re-Realized

Bowser is dead. Mario saved the Princess. And I have another 20+ hours of my life that I'll never get back.

I look at it as time well spent. It's like reliving my childhood, only without the acne, trench coat and overall awkwardness.

Goals=Realized

Over Christmas, we broke out the Wii and I logged in a half-hour or so playing old-school Metroid. I loved that game back in the day, and probably would have nerded out and finished the game in a marathon, family be damned. The weather didn't cooperate, though, and a power outage cut my game short.

I let it go for a little bit, but it's been gnawing at me. So i downloaded a NES emulator, scoured the interwebs for some hacked versions of games that would work on this emulator, found Metroid, and went to town.

Today, I conquered Metroid, and well...

I will be vigilant and looking out for The Other Metroid.
