I've been preaching the gospel of Langhorne Slim for a little bit now, and I got a chance to go see him play a few weeks back with my ladyfriend. It was an incredible show, and we had the bonus of seeing him at a small venue, which was even cooler.The guy can just play. He's got stage presence and all that, which adds to the show, but beyond all that, he's got skills, his band has skills (the dude on the banjo was incredible), and it's a different sound, something between bluegrass and folk music.
If you like some twangy mountain music, I'd suggest checking this dude out. And if you like wooden humanoids traversing the earth, I'd watch this video:
