I landed in LA two weeks ago, jumped in the car and headed due North, up through San Francisco, then burled on past Mendicino for my first view of the Pacific Ocean in more than 10 years.
After checking out sea lions and cavorting in the sand, I jumped back in the car and headed for camping around some redwoods and other big trees, finally ending up looking at Mt. Shasta from a skatepark in Weed, CA. I posted some of these photos already, but there are a few more that I really liked, so here they are.
At the end there's a video clip that kinda sorta gives you an idea what it was like driving through these super-tight mountain roads with redwoods on both sides.
