Live Action

There's been a bunch of solid shows coming through town lately, and I caught two that were really, really good.

Two weeks ago was Modest Mouse at 9:30 Club. They played a good mix of old and new tracks, and even though the newest stuff (I'm guessing they've got a new disc coming out) was pretty average, their older shit sounded great, they put on a good show and their sound was really tight. 9:30 club was packed to the gills, too, and people were way into the show, including some wannabe 20-year-old hippies trying to tell us how to get down at a show. Please, bitch.

Last night I caught Asobi Seksu at H Street's Rock N Roll Hotel-a great spot to catch smaller indie bands, and maybe hip-hop dance shows if you're into that. Anyway, AS is good shoegazer music with a girl singer who may or may not be singing in other languages. No matter what she's saying, it sounded good. If you like any of that I'd say check 'em out when they come your way. They've also got at least 2 discs out (Citrus and Hush) which are both really good.

Rock on.

You forget to tell them about revving up the chipper. Shame on you.

And I forgot to tell them that you have a white poodle.

Don't bring the poodle into this. That's completely uncalled for! Shame on you twice.
