This Won't Make You Feel Better

On vbs.tv, where I usually go to see Epicly Later'd episodes, I've been watching another show called Toxic Garbage Island, and it kinda rules.

It's a couple of do-gooders along with the captain and crew of a ship sailing in the Pacific Ocean, looking for the (alleged) floating garbage dump.

If you haven't heard about this thing, the idea is that because of currents in the Pacific, a whole bunch of trash has been pulled together and is now a floating garbage dump 2x the size of Texas.

Along the way, they're testing the water, testing fish, etc., to see how much plastic and plastic-related toxins are polluting and possibly destroying life in the oceans. I'm only about 6 epsiodes in (out of 12 total), and so far it's not looking good.

The captain is pretty great, and a total non-stereotype as far as captains go (he might even be worthy of a Dartmouth grad's attention), and even though the lead do-gooder with the Harry Potter glasses is kind of annoying, the show and project are a cool idea and I'm hoping to get a shot of Garbage Island. If it exists.
